Lateral Step Up (Smith Machine)

Side step-up onto a box with the Smith machine bar across upper back; the fixed track keeps the bar path stable while you step laterally.

Technique

  1. Bar on upper back like squat
  2. Place one foot on elevated surface
  3. Drive up through front heel
  4. Stand fully on platform
  5. Step down with control
  6. Keep torso upright
  7. Complete reps then switch
